This is a work in progress that welcomes submissions from readers, who know of events not listed. As with the chronology produced for the period 1965 - 1973, I have chosen to subdivide activities and events into a number of subsets.
First public protests by active duty GIs, and their immediate families, against the war in Iraq. Most of the acts listed here are taken from articles in the mainstream press, as well as antiwar web and blogosphere that feature antiwar GIs as the focus of the article.
Second, refusal of orders to either deploy to Iraq or to take a specific action when in Iraq.
Third, Unauthorized absence and desertion.
Fourth, the military's response to antiwar GIs.
Fifth, anti-war GI and Veterans organizations.
Sixth, Canada
